Meanwhile an entire month passed by since we’ve traveled to Barcelona for 72 hours. Well, probably some of you already followed the journey real-time via Instagram and some may already discovered the new little project of heart we’ve been working on: video content!
It’s been a while now since I started to feel like I really want to change something, I want to go a step further and evolve by doing something completely new and hopefully learning a lot by doing so. You know, I belong to those types of humans who basically always have to much energy and who get bored by things very easily. Maybe that’s why it got a little silent here on the blog. Well, of course not because I got bored by you or by doing this in general. After all, the blog is still my baby. But that baby urgently needed a sister that brings in a bit of a change and a new challenge to get me rid of my excessive energy. Briefly speaking: The project “video” was born.
Admittedly, the video above which we did while in Barcelona was not even planned to be published at all. Instead we just planed creating a tiny bit of video content for me to play around later to get into the whole video cutting and editing thing (and damn, that’s not thaaat easy, guys!) and also to test what is actually possible with the equipment we already have. And above all, we needed to figure out if we actually enjoy taking videos after all or if we don’t fancy the idea of taking videos anymore after our first trial. I mean, neither Melina nor I do have any experience in producing videos so we had zero know how to fall back on but instead just did it according to the motto “learning by doing”. So basically we just filmed all kind of stuff while traveling around the Barcelona before I spent hours and hours in front of the screening to edit it myself. Fun fact: The first day I started cutting the video, I spent 20hrs in front of my screen without getting up for a second because I was sooooo into it. What a nerd I am. Lol.
To cut a long story short: Even after investing so many hours of work, the video is still far away from perfection but there’s so much passion and love put inside that I still decided to publish it – which wasn’t an easy decision for the perfectionist I am, just saying.

Mittlerweile ist fast ein Monat vergangen, seit wir nach Barcelona gereist sind und bestimmt haben die einen oder anderen unsere Reise via Instagram mitverfolgt und vielleicht auch schon gesehen, dass wir mit einem neuen, kleinen Herzensprojekt gestartet sind: Dem Filmen.
Schon länger hatte ich das Bedürfnis, mich irgendwie, irgendwohin weiter zu entwickeln, etwas Neues zu wagen und vor allem viel Neues zu lernen. Schliesslich gehöre ich zu der Art Mensch, die grundsätzlich zu viel Energie haben und sich schnell ab Dingen langweilen, vielleicht deshalb die Stille hier auf dem Blog letztens – also, nicht, dass ich euch langweilig fände oder das ganze hier. Schliesslich ist das hier noch immer meine Baby. Aber trotzdem brauchte dieses Baby ein Geschwister, dass für etwas Abwechslung sorgt und eine neue Herausforderung für mich und meine überschüssige Energie wird. Kurz: Das Projekt «Video» war geboren.
Zugegeben, war das Video in Barcelona nicht einmal zur Veröffentlichung geplant. Vielmehr wollten wir testen, wie gut das mit bestehendem Equipement funktioniert, ob wir überhaupt wirklich Freude daran haben und oder schon nach dem ersten Versuch keine Lust mehr auf Bewegtbild haben. Schliesslichen haben weder ich noch Melina Erfahrungen in dem Bereich und konnten auf 0,0 Know-How zurückgreifen – «learning by doing» war demnach das Motto und so filmten wir einfach drauf los. Anschliessend sass ich zig Stunden vor dem MacBook am Schnitt. Fun Fact: Am ersten Tag, als ich mich an die Bearbeitung setzte, dass ich ganze 20 Stunden ohne ein einziges Mal aufzustehen vor dem Computer. Ich kann ganz schön nerdig sein…
Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Auch nach so viel Arbeit ist das Video zwar noch längst nicht perfekt, aber dafür ist es mit ganz viel Herzblut und Liebe gemacht, weshalb ich mich – obwohl ich Perfektionistin durch und durch bin – entschied, es doch zu veröffentlichen.
