Easter is coming closer and with it, at least for me, also the official beginning of spring. It’s the time of year when I start to bloom almost as much as the flowers, bushes and trees outside and feel a great desire to redecorate the apartment and be creative in general. With these three ideas for selfmade wall art, every room looks pretty. Doesn’t it? Also, They are very easy and quick to imitate.
Ostern stehen an und damit, zumindest für mich, auch der offizielle Frühlingsanfang. Das wiederum ist eine Jahreszeit, in der ich fast so sehr aufblühe wie die Blumen, Sträucher und Bäume draussen und grosse Lust verspüre, die Wohnung umzudekorieren und kreativ zu sein. Mit diesen drei Ideen für selbstgemachte Wandkunst, sieht direkt jedes Zimmer etwas hüscher aus. Dabei sind sie auch ganz einfach und schnell nachzumachen.
Pressed Flowers. Don’t we all know them from our childhood, those endless flowers we carefully draped in books in order to press them? Well, I’ve always been an impatient kind of person, so I looked around for another, faster technique and found it quickly:
– Put a sheet of household paper (or toilet paper) and a sheet of newspaper on top of each other and put the flowers on top of it
– Fold the newspaper so that it covers the flowers
– Add another household paper
– Place the whole thing between two weighting elements (e.g. ceramic plates)
– Put it in the Microwave for about 90 seconds
– Finished
Gepresste Blumen. Kennen wir sie nicht alle aus unserer Kindheit, die vielen, selbst gepressten Blumen, die wir schön in Büchern drapierten und ewig lange warteten, bis sie endlich trocken waren? Nun, ich war schon immer ungeduldig, habe mich deshalb nach einer anderen, schnelleren Technik umgeschaut und wurde schnell fündig:
– Ein Blatt Haushaltspapier (oder WC-Papier) und ein Blatt Zeitung aufeinander legen und darauf die Blumen auslegen
– Die Zeitung falten, sodass sie die Blumen bedeckt
– Nochmals ein Haushaltspapier darüber
– Das Ganze zwischen zwei beschwerende Elemente legen (z.B. Keramikplatten)
– Ca 90 Sekunden in die Mikrowelle
– Fertig
Black Labels. Well, that’s an easy one, but one I haven’t seen anywhere else before except from my home, I thought I share it too. By the way, the idea came up when I got kinda addicted to that label machine and started labeling pretty much everything – my boyfriend is actually lucky he didn’t get a label on his forehead saying “Michèle’s Boyfriend, keep your fingers off”. ;) So basically you just need that label machine (the brand of mine is DYMO) and can get started. But as said, be carefull! It’s extremely addictive.
Black Labels. Gut, die Idee ist offensichtlich ziemlich einfach, aber da ich sie bisher noch nie irgendwo anders gesehen habe, als bei mir Zuhause, teile ich sie trotzdem. Die Idee ist übrigens einfach aus einer Sucht für diese Label-Maschine entsprungen, in der ich direkt alles erstmal beschriftet hatte – mein Freund kann froh sein, dass er kein Label auf die Stirn bekommen hat «Michèle’s Boyfriend, keep your fingers off” ;) Alles was ihr braucht ist also eine Label-Maschine (meine ist von DYMO). Aber Achtung: Hohes Suchtpotential.
Small pictures, large frames. Well, there’s not much to explain about this idea, so I’m going to keep it short. Instead of always placing the pictures, photos or drawings in the appropriate frames, I like to choose too large frames. That’s super easy, but makes the result look a bit more special than usually.
