10+ appointments a day while using every 5 minutes break to try catching an Instagram appropriate picture. That’s how I’d summ up fashion week in one sentence. But this London Fashion Week was different. I went with my beloved Dyson family and decided to make it less stressful aka. more enjoyable for once. So we started our first LFW day with an appointment at London star stylist Larry King. Well, actually we first had an extensive breakfast at the hotel – attention, random info for foodies: there’s a fantastic Birchermuesli at the Intercontinental Park Lane hotel – already shot a first picture for the gram and answered the most urgent emails. Whoopsie. I went off the topic (again). Back to Larry Kings salon.
By this time Fashion Week is no longer all about the designers and their runway shows an, instead the hurly-burly of streetstyle photographer looking for picture-worthy outfits in front of the show locations is just as important. And while the guests outfits are incredibly important, so is a matching hairstyle that is basically an accessory to complete a look. Now I’d say I’m pretty good in the first, but I know I’m not that good in the latter. So I decided to entrust by hair to Dyson ambassador Larry King and his team and asked for a simple but voluminous low ponytail. In case you wonder why I went for something that simple: 1. I wanted to wear a hat later that day with a different outfit, so that other look worked with the same hairstyle, 2. it is indeed easy to do a simple ponytail, but to get that volume and make it stay all day, is a tricky mission.
So what they did is using the Dyson Supersonic to add volume to the roots while blow-drying the hair, then they went for the Dyson Airwrap to create soft waves in a short time and then it was time for a looooooot of teasing – see step by step pictures bellow. I was especially impressed how quick it all went. A hairwash, a quick briefing about the look I wanted and a talk about how Dyson products make the work of a hairstylist so much easier – because the Supersonic is not as loud as usual hairdriers and also way quicker – I already stepped out of the salon with a beautiful ponytail and went to our first official fashion week appointment…
Having a hairstylist doing your hair is quite a nice thing which I wouldn’t mind having every day, but hey, at least I have the same amazing Dyson products at home and that’s almost the same, right? ;)
10+ Termine am Tag, dazwischen hie und da ein Foto für Instagram. Das ist Fashion Week. Zumindest normalweise. Diesmal war ich mit meiner Dyson Family in London und ging das ganze ein wenig gelassener an als sonst. So startete mein erster London Fashion Week Tag mit einem Termin bei Londoner Star-Friseur Larry King. Naja, also eigentlich haben wir erst einmal ausgiebig gefrühstückt – Achtung, es folgt eine random Info für Foodies: Im Intercontinental Park Lane gibt es übertrieben gutes Birchermüesli am Frühstücksbuffet! – bereits ein Foto für Instagram gemacht und die wichtigsten Mails abgearbeitet. Ups. Mal wieder abgeschweift. Zurück zu Larry Kings Salon.
Mittlerweile sind die Shows an der Fashion Week nicht mehr der einzige wichtige Schauplatz, stattdessen ist das Getummel vor den Shows zu einer, wenn nicht DER Hauptattraktion geworden. So stehen x Streetstyle Fotografen vor den Locations und hoffen auf gute Outfits der Besucher, die es wert sind, abgelichtet zu werden. Dazu gehört natürlich nicht nur das richtigen Styling in Sachen Mode, sondern eben auch das Hairstyling. Und weil ich genau in letzterem nicht ganz so gut bin wie in ersterem, vertraute ich meine Mähne dem Dyson Ambassador Larry King an und wünschte einen simplen, voluminösen Pferdeschwanz, der tief sitzt. Wer sich jetzt wundert, warum ich so eine simple Sache wähle: 1. damit konnte ich für ein späteres Outfit auch einen Hut aufsetzen und 2. ein Pferdeschwanz der schön voluminös ist und nicht direkt zusammenfällt, ist ziemlich tricky.
Mit dem Dyson Supersonic wurde also erstmal viel Volumen in den Ansatz geföhnt, mit dem dem Dyson Airwrap im Nu weiche Wellen gezaubert und mit dem Kam anschliessend noch ordentlich toupiert – siehe Step by Step Fotos. Generell ging alles ganz fix, sodass wir inklusive Haarewaschen und Besprechen der Frisur und Gespräch über die Dyson Produkte und wie sie die Arbeit als Friseur erleichtern – weil leiser und dadurch angenehmer und schneller und damit effizienter – nach nur 45 Minuten wieder aus dem Salon spazierten und zum ersten Fashion Week Termin fuhren…
So ein Friseur, der einem die Haare macht ist schon eine tolle Sache, aber zumindest habe ich die selben tollen Dyson Tools zuhause – fast das selbe, oder? ;)
