More than a entire year has passed since the project The Fashion Fraction Collection, a capsule collection for Metro Boutique, started. Yet, I feel like it was only yesterday when I put my first design ideas for the fall-winter collection on paper. And from today on you can finally find and shop them in Metro Boutique stores all over Switzerland as well as online. It’s crazy how time flies and how amazing the feeling is to suddenly hold something in your hands that you’ve been working on for so long.
By the way, we shot the photos of the whole collection in Iceland and drove around the entire island in a camper to find the most beautiful places. And believe me, that was quite a difficult task. No, not because there aren’t enough beautiful places, but because there are simply too many of them and the decision for the very best ones wasn’t easy. And you know how bad I am when it comes to making decisions. My strengths are definitely elsewhere.
That’s why working with Metro Boutique during the design and development of the collection was such a relief for me. I didn’t have to make decisions completely on my own, but had a competent and experienced team at my side, so that the collection not only turned out absolutely beautiful and reflectes my style perfectly – but is also of great quality, from the materials, to the cut to the details like the buttons.
And please don’t ask me what my favorite piece is! Maybe it’s the amazing leather trousers, maybe the detailed red sweater or maybe the purple shag jacket? Or the skirt because it is so perfectly cut or the sweater with fringed sleeves because it can be styled in so many ways. Hmm, but there is also this green sweater with the imprint “Save The Bees. Protect The Trees. Clean The Seas” whose message is very close to my heart. You see, no decision again.

Mehr als ein ganzes Jahr ist es mittlerweile her, seit das Projekt The Fashion Fraction Collection, eine Capsule Collection für Metro Boutique gestartet ist. Und trotzdem kommt es mir vor als ob es gestern war, als ich meine ersten Design-Ideen für die Herbst-Winter-Kollektion auf Papier brachte und ab heute könnt ihr sie endlich in den Metro Boutique Filialen sowie im hier Onlineshop finden, kaufen und selber tragen. Verrückt wie die Zeit vergeht und wie schön das Gefühl ist, etwas, das man sich so lange im Kopf ausgedacht hat, plötzlich ganz real in den Händen zu halten.
Geshootet haben wir die ganze Kollektion übrigens in Island und sind dafür in einem Camper einmal um die ganze Insel gefahren um auch ja die schönsten Orte zu finden. Und glaub mir, das war ganz schön schwierig. Nein, nicht weil es nicht genügend schöne Orte gibt, sondern weil es schlicht viel zu viele davon gibt und die Entscheidung gar nicht so einfach war. Und ihr wisst ja, wie es um mich steht, wenn es um Entscheidungen geht. Meine Stärken liegen definitiv wo anders.
Deshalb war die Zusammenarbeit mit Metro Boutique während des Entwurfs und der Entwicklung der Kollektion für mich eine ganz schöne Erleichterung. So musste ich Entscheidungen nämlich nicht komplett alleine treffen, sondern hatte ein kompetetens und erfahrenes Team an meiner Seite, sodass die Kollektion nicht nur wunderschön geworden ist und genau meinen Stil wiederspiegelt – sondern auch qualitativ toll ist, von den Materialien, zum Schnitt bis zu den Details wie Knöpfen.
Und fragt mich jetzt bloss nicht, welches mein Lieblingsteil ist! Vielleicht ist es die tolle Lederhose, vielleicht der detailreiche rote Pulli oder vielleicht auch die violette Zotteljacke? Oder doch der Rock, weil er so perfekt geschnitten ist oder der Zottelpulli weil sich zu so vielen kombinieren lässt. Hmm, aber da war ja auch noch der grüne Pulli mit dem Aufdruck «Save The Bees. Protect The Trees. Clean The Seas», dessen Message mir sehr am Herzen liegt. Ihr sehr, auch hier schaffe ich es einfach nicht eine klare Entscheidung zu treffen.
